Figuring Out Pen Names

I'm trying to find words in other languages that start with K and mean "author" or "writer" In Finnish "author" translates to: kirjailija S.L. Kirjailija But that's quite a mouthful. Oo! In Maori "author" translates to: kaituhi S.L. Kaituhi That's shorter, and there might be a story behind use of this name as a word. In Sinhala language the pronunciation is: kartá¹› for "author" Hmmm... I'll brb... the kids are demanding I make dinner NOW. Ok we had spag bol for din din. And I think I'm going with the Maori pen name. So call me S.L. Kaituhi for my drama, memoir, crime, and thriller writing! SL Kaituhi. I really hope that doesn't actually mean something naughty in another language. lol But it reminds me that I was named after my mom's best friend in Hawaii. Suzanne Settle. So there's a connection in the Maori part too. Lovely. As for my nickname Suz Korb, and my publishing company K

I #AMWRITING

The scene I'm currently writing is so wacky. I suppose I love writing like this. By the seat of my pants. No outline. Just writing 100% creatively with what pops into my head. Basically I'm on Mars with my main character. She's just run into a rover vehicle and she's got to trash it before the data can be sent back to Earth. Well what would you do if you worked at NASA and you saw a teenage girl walking around on the surface of Mars wearing only jeans, a t-shirt, and trainers? Yeah, you'd flip out. And that's what Wendy (the main character) is trying to prevent from happening, right now. Why? I don't know yet. What else will she get up to ON MARS. She doesn't need a space suit whilst existing out in the open ON MARS FFS. This is amazing. I don't know how I'm going to explain her abilities as a Martian, but it's going to be awesome to find out! My brain is always churning like a cylindrical rainbow, because that's how I write. I creat

A Ready Meal That Actually Looks Like the Product

Check out my meal this evening! I think the actual food in my bowl looks better than the picture! For once. Usually ready meal photos on packaging look amazing in comparison to the actual food that happens once out of the microwave. Back in 2016 when I first did Slimming World I bought a SW ready meal from Iceland. The picture on the box looked amazing. After I nuked it though, it looked worse than a can of the cheapest dog food mixed with brown diareah. I mean, SW ready meals already taste like shit. When they look like shit it's ten times worse trying to choke one down. I'm just feeling horrible today because I've been having 1 SW ready meal daily for 2 weeks straight. I'm going to have to make time for fresh food now, because I never want to eat SW ready meals ever again. It's great that the Iceland SW meals are improving, but they are not good to have daily. Oh well.

Off to Be the Wizard by Scott Meyer - Magic 2.0 - Book 1

Martin Banks is just a normal guy who has made an abnormal discovery: he can manipulate reality, thanks to reality being nothing more than a computer program. With every use of this ability, though, Martin finds his little "tweaks" have not escaped notice. Rather than face prosecution, he decides instead to travel back in time to the Middle Ages and pose as a wizard. What could possibly go wrong? An American hacker in King Arthur's court, Martin must now train to become a full-fledged master of his powers, discover the truth behind the ancient wizard Merlin...and not, y'know, die or anything. I came across this audiobook for free. Amazon emailed me some free audiobooks on Alexa and I'm glad they did! This book was cute and adventurous. Perfect for someone like me who enjoys both reading and writing such books. I love the time-travel in this story. I love the world and magic building. There are great characters who really come alive in this story, even though

The Clothes I Wear Determine My Mood

When I used to sit around eating and writing all day I'd sometimes wear a muumuu. I felt huge and slow. It made me billow around the house whenever I could be bothered to actually stand up and walk to the fridge. Thankfully, those kinds of days were few and far between. But existing like that taught me a lesson. That what I wear really does determine my mood and motivation for the whole day. Nowadays when I get up in the morning I wear clothes that support me comfortably. I'll wear a sporty outfit that I can do the school run in, come home for a power walk, stretch when finished, then shower. After my first shower of the day I wear another sporty yet comfortable outfit to start novel writing. I use my chair, but also standing desk, intermittently. Then after school pick up I can do more activities with my kids. At the end of the day I like to have a bath and then put on my pyjamas. Most importantly I can relax and I don't have to wear a bra!
