My books will be available again soon on Amazon as ebooks only, not in paperback, hardcover, or audiobooks for the time being. I have written in many different genres over the years. Sometimes I like to think of my books as niche, but each book is what it is, and I wrote them for you to enjoy as well. Perhaps each book can’t truly be categorised into just one genre. So many subgenres to think about when it comes to a novel. But I will compile a list of elements my books contain. It’s not like I’ve written historical world war fiction, that is definitely a category unto itself. I’ve never written straight up crime thrillers. In the main, I would say my books all contain romance. But no, now I’m thinking about my stories that are considered to be chick lit or women’s fiction, and those don’t have romantic plots. Okay, many of my books are steeped in comedy. Let’s just say, I love writing science-fiction and fantasy, and romantic comedy, plus women’s fiction, and coming of age. Never say never though. There are lots of genres that have taken my interest over the years, so you never know what I’m gonna write next.
Except the rest of my blog post will contradict that too. Haha.
Because now it’s time for my current writing update, which actually harkens back to my steampunk writing. To be honest, that genre has been with me since I wrote The Keystone. Jacklyn’s story was told in her realm, but for the past few months I’ve had a character in mind who is itching my brain, because apparently he wants to get out and onto the page.
Say hello to Soth.
Today I finally pulled up a character sheet in Scrivener, and I started to write down what I saw and felt in my mind’s eye. It led me to working out the main plot line of my book. Which also led to the opening scene bursting into my thoughts. So I have entered steampunk Victorian London, where magic is soon to be discovered. It’s wild already and my characters are distinguishing themselves with abandon.
